Glasgow (TAN): United Kingdom’s Lake District has turned into a paradise for animal lovers looking to tie the knot. Keswick-based Armathwaite Hall Hotel and Spa joined hands with the Lake District Wildlife Park to offer a ‘Meet the Alpaca’ experience for couples taking wedding vows at the Lakes.

Couples, along with their families, will be able to spend time with and pet four alpacas – Buzz, Herbie, Hector and Hugo – during the drinks reception. It can also make for a perfect photo-op for the wedding parties.

The woolly friends from South America will be accompanied by their keepers who will share trivia about them with guests.

Claire Ivill, a keeper, said: “Alpacas love people and it is a pleasure to be introducing this special experience where couples can enjoy their gentle, friendly natures. Not only can newly-weds enjoy the spectacular Lakeland landscape, but they can create some genuine ‘wow’ moments – and photos – which will stay in the memory for many years to come.”
