Vienna (TAN): Austrian Airlines is set to take off for summer 2019 with a host of new flights.
While the airline plans to increase the number of flight connections to Germany, holiday destinations in Greece, Italy, and Spain, among several other countries will be connected by Austrian Airlines, starting March 31, 2019.
Also, the airline will operate its long-haul flight service from the end of April this year. Member of the Management Board and Chief Compliance Officer of Austrian Airlines Andreas Otto said: “We already look forward to our inaugural flight to Montreal. Moreover, we will introduce two additional flight connections to Tokyo in the summer and thus fly there daily.”
More connections to Germany
Austrian Airlines will operate 263 weekly flights between Vienna and Germany this summer, raising its offering by up to fifteen frequencies per week from last year.
The airline will fly up to 39 times each week to Hamburg, up to 40 times per week to Düsseldorf, 32 times to Stuttgart, and up to 56 times to Berlin-Tegel Airport.
Vacationers to Greece, Italy or Spain
The airline will offer up to 56 weekly flights to 17 destinations in Greece, including holiday islands such as Corfu, Karpathos, Crete (Chania and Heraklion), and Rhodes.
Come summer, 12 Italian destinations comprising Olbia, Cagliari, Catania, and Brindisi will be served 112 weekly connections by Austrian Airlines.
While the airline will fly to Spain’s Ibiza twice a week, it will operate one flight per week to Menorca, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Tenerife.
Flights to Central and Eastern Europe
Austrian Airlines will cater to 33 locations in Central and Eastern Europe with 441 weekly flights during the summer months.
It will operate 42 flights per week to Ukraine’s Kiev, Dnipro, Lviv and Odessa, up to 47 weekly flights to the Romanian cities of Bucharest, Iasi and Sibiu, and 27 weekly flights to Russia’s Moscow, St. Petersburg and Krasnodar.
The airline will fly up to 20 times a week to Serbia’s Belgrade, and 14 times a week to the Macedonian capital Skopje.
North America and Japan will be offered more connections
Austria’s home carrier will operate its first flight to the Canadian city of Montreal on April 29, 2019, followed by daily connections to the city.
The airline will fly to five destinations in the United States this summer. It will operate to California’s Los Angeles daily, and Florida’s Miami four times a week. New York’s JFK and Newark airports will be served one daily flight each.
Together, North America will receive 46 flights weekly.
The airline will increase frequencies to Japan in summer, with Tokyo getting one flight daily, two more than last year.
