India: Taj MG Road Bengaluru reopens after INR 100 crore renovation

Mumbai (TAN): The Indian Hotels Company Limited’s (IHCL) Taj MG Road property in the Indian city of Bengaluru has reopened following a major makeover.

The extensive refurbishment of the Taj brand hotel, which involved an investment of INR 100 crores, took 21 months to complete.

Located in the centre of the city, the hotel is easily accessible from Bengaluru’s cultural and technological hubs alike.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at IHCL Puneet Chhatwal said: “In keeping with our Aspiration 2022, IHCL has reimagined its brandscape and restructured its investments towards renovating key Taj hotels.”

“This investment in its iconic Taj brand is to ensure we stay relevant for our ever evolving global travellers. Taj MG Road is one amongst 15 other Taj hotels to have been enhanced,” he added, while speaking on the launch.

The reimagined space, inspired by the Garden City of Bengaluru, features British colonial design. The rooms offer views of the city as well as the Ulsoor Lake.

When it comes to cuisine, Taj MG Road Bengaluru will entertain guests at the al fresco area of the hotel’s all-day diner the Trinity Sqaure, the Chinese restaurant Memories of China, and the Ice Bar.
