New York City (TAN): As kids, many of us were put to sleep each night after a bedtime story. But ever imagined what it would feel like as an adult, especially when these stories are read out by celebrities.

Marriott International’s millennial-focused brand Moxy Hotels will introduce ASMR Bedtime Stories to put guests to sleep at its newly-opened property in New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood for a month starting April 15, 2019.

ASMR or Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response can serve as a calming mental massage to put an individual to sleep with the help of visual, auditory and haptic triggers sending out pleasant tingles.

Toni Stoeckl, Vice President, Distinctive Select Brands for Marriott International, and Global Brand Leader, Moxy Hotels, said: “This latest installment of our Bedtime Stories series feels undeniably Moxy – pushing the boundaries in a fun, playful way, and giving guests something they won’t experience at any other hotel. We’re thrilled to be exclusively debuting the videos at Moxy Chelsea, Moxy’s new secret garden in the heart of New York City’s Chelsea Flower Market.”

The videos are performed by actress-author-musician Bella Thorne, Dani Thorne, andsinger Caroline Vreeland, who interact with fun props to produce sounds that of a hand running over a sequined dress, or fizz of champagne, the crinkling of cellophane or the strike of a match while narrating a feisty story.

“Taking part in these A.S.M.R. Bedtime Stories was very stimulating. I want Moxy Chelsea hotel guests to feel like they are right there with me, sharing my meal,” Caroline Vreeland said.

Co-creator and artistic director at Whisperlodge Melinda Lauw said: “Whisperlodge delivers care, relaxation and sensory exploration through carefully-crafted immersive experiences. We love Moxy’s vibrant playful energy and we’re so excited to partner with Moxy Hotels and Moxy Chelsea to bring our unique blend of art and wellness to guests at Manhattan’s most exciting new hotel.”

“Moxy is a brand known for stimulating guests at our hotels with bold immersive art – from our ‘Hotel Heist’ theatrical performance in Frankfurt where blindfolded guests were escorted into a bedroom to hear thrilling stories; to our live ‘Pink Bear’ in Berlin, inspired by artist Paul Robinson’s ‘The Pink Bear’ art series, which is best known for being featured in Cara Delevingne’s #Art4Animals campaign,” Stoeckl added.

Presently, Moxy runs over 30 experiential properties across North America, Europe and Asia, and plans to open over 20 new hotels this year, in cities including Boston and Nashville in the United States and Dublin in Ireland.
