London (TAN): Veganism is a thing right now. And the United States-based hospitality company Hilton Hotels is making sure the trend finds its place in the sun.

The company has introduced what it claims to be the world’s first vegan suite at its Hilton London Bankside property in the United Kingdom.

Hilton has partnered with United Kingdom-based multi-sensory design experts Bompas & Parr to offer its guests a completely plant-based experience, with everything from the carpets and keycards to pillow options and toiletries.

The Vegan Society, based in Birmingham, has given its nod to the initiative.

Pineapple is the new inspiration

Taking pineapple as its inspiration, the hotel has used Piñatex, a vegan-friendly leather made from the fruit’s cellulose fibers, to design the suite.

Piñatex features in the suite’s headboard, as it does in its desk chairs and poufs. Piñatex cushions complete the plush feel of the suite.

Vegan décor and toiletries

When it comes to the floor, Hilton has chosen a solid stone-grey style made with 100% renewable and sustainable Moso Bamboo, and responsibly sourced organic cotton carpets in muted tones.
