New York (TAN): A United Airlines flight from Baltimore to San Francisco in the United States had to recently make an emergency landing at Washington, DC’s Dulles International Airport after passengers complained of a mysterious odour, media reports said.

Seven passengers were reportedly sent to the hospital for assessment after the strong smell made them ill.
United Airlines told passengers that the aircraft, a Boeing 737, was in need of “prolonged ventilation system maintenance”, CNN quoted a passenger as saying.
The passenger reportedly said they noticed “a faint smell of fuel” before taking off, which eventually became “very strong”.
Last month, several passengers and crew members of a Seattle-bound Alaska Airlines flight from Chicago were treated for respiratory issues triggered by a “sweet burning smell”.

United Airlines, recently, while flying from San Francisco to Los Angeles, made an emergency landing at California’s Bakersfield owing to a mechanical problem.
