It was found napping between the jet engine propeller blades of a Virgin Australia aircraft just before takeoff.
The Virgin Australia crew was performing pre-flight checks when they discovered the bird snuggled inside the engine. The owl was then checked for injuries and released back into the wild.
The airline took to Twitter to share this experience. It posted photos of the bird, saying: “This owl didn’t give a hoot where it napped!”
“The cute little guy was found during our pre-flight checks,” the carrier added.
Virgin Australia owner Sir Richard Branson tweeted with a pun: “Just when I thought I’d seen it owl… Great job team.”
“You’re talon us,” the team replied to the boss’ tweet.
