(TAN): Turkey’s flag carrier Turkish Airlines will raise the frequency of nonstop flights per week from international destinations to the country’s tourism hubs by 18% this year vis-à-vis a year ago, reports said.
Chairman of Turkish Airlines, Ilker Ayci, reportedly said that the new tourism-focused international flights flights will bring new visitors to the country.
“We are committed to continue and increase our contributions to our country’s tourism sector and its economy. We believe that our new flights will be carrying new tourists and new records on their wings as well,” he was quoted by SeeNews as saying.

According to reports, the airline will operate 98 flights from 26 international destinations to the sought-after tourism spots in Turkey that include Antalya, Dalaman, Bodrum and Izmir during the summer of 2020.
While the carrier will operate 74 flights per week from 20 destinations to Antalya, services from Moscow, Russia to Antalya will double to 14 each week, as per reports. Direct services to Dalaman will go up to seven per week from four destinations – London, Moscow, Jordan’s capital Amman and Ukraine’s capital Kiev, reports said.
Additionally, the airline plans to fly four services per week from London, Kuwait and Munich each to Bodrum-Milas Airport, which serves the Turkish towns of Bodrum and Milas, as per reports.

Turkish Airlines will also operate five flights each week to Izmir from the German cities of Berlin, Munich, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, and Kuwait.
The carrier will reportedly launch direct flights between Kuwait and Izmir, and Bodrum-Milas Airport in a bid to expand its reach in the Middle East.
“Tourists who wish to discover the beautiful cities of Turkey will be able to travel with the Turkish Airlines’ comfort and hospitality on direct flights from a range of destinations,” Ayci was quoted by Hurriyet Daily News as saying.
