(TAN): Indian state of Madhya Pradesh’s Pench Tiger Reserve has announced to offer tourists a chance to see rare wildlife from raised platforms (machan) in its buffer area. This opportunity would be available only five days in a month, reported The Hitavada.
The state’s chief minister recently gave instructions to increase tourism activities in the buffer area of the Tiger Reserve under the ‘Safar Yojana’, said the Field Director of Pench to the media.
According to reports, the facility of wildlife viewing will be provided to tourists from the scaffolding in the buffer areas of Pench Tiger Reserve. At present, this facility would be available on two scaffolds of Daldali pond and Dudhiya pond loft. Each month, a maximum of four tourists would be allowed to sit for four hours each day, half an hour before sunset in each loft, two days before and two days after full moon.

With the opening of the boundary of the forest area, the time taken to reach the scaffold and outside would be extra. Tourists have to go to the Machan with registered vehicles and guides at a rate of INR 1,000 (USD 13.5) per tourist, exclusive of taxes. Booking via MP online has started from November 26. The full moon of this month is on November 30. Tourists would be able to enjoy wildlife viewing from November 28 to December 2 on the scaffolding.
