The Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Forestry, Chris Tallentire said that the government has committed AUD148,000 towards the project.
“As an avid cyclist myself, I’m particularly excited to see the development of a cycling masterplan for the area and can’t wait to explore more of this beautiful region. Cycling and spending time in natural areas, like Western Australia’s forests and plantations, is a great way to connect with others and improve health and wellbeing,” he added.
The funding will be used to build a cycling masterplan and documents to sanction cycling trails in Nannup.
The trails hub is expected to help on various levels – while it will push tourism and boost the local economy, it will also make the connection between forest management practices and active forest users stronger.
