Air India Express, Air India turn logos dark on social media

(TAN): Air India Express and its parent airline Air India turned their logos on social media dark on social media on August 8 morning, a day after an accident involving Air India Express flight IX 1344 from Dubai met with an accident at Kozhikode airport while landing.

At least 18 people have died, including the two pilots, according to latest reports.

The accident took place when the plane tried to land at the tabletop airport around 1940 hours on August 7 amid heavy rain.

A total of 190 people were on board at the time of the accident, in which the plane broke into two. All the four cabin crew are safe. 

Flight-tracking website FlightRadar24 showed that IX 1344 had tried to land twice before making the final attempt that ended in the disaster.
