San Francisco (TAN): Mona Lisa finally played hostess to her perfect guests Daniela and Adam on April 30.
Global home-sharing platform Airbnb, in partnership with the Louvre Museum, had launched a contest ‘Why would you be the Mona Lisa’s perfect guest?’ on April 3, the winner of which got an opportunity to spend a night in the museum.

Daniela, a young student in fine arts conservation from Newcastle in Great Britain, won the competition beating over 182,000 applicants from all over the world. She, along with her boyfriend Adam, spent the night surrounded by iconic hosts, ranging from Mona Lisa to Venus of Milo.
“It was an unexpected and unbelievable experience. I respect art because of what I study, but being able to experience it in such a way granted me the space to appreciate everything individually, which actually makes a huge difference,” Daniela said.
“I also recognize the huge privilege that I had in attending. I got a fantastic sleep! It was a lot to take in through the evening, so I fell asleep within seconds!” she added.

While the guests toasted the Mona Lisa, the Greek goddess of love and beauty Venus of Milo hosted dinner at a pop-up dining room, and French artist Sarah Jeanne Ziegler performed at a private concert in Napoleon III’s Apartments. After an eventful evening, the guests retired to their bedroom under the Pyramid for a comfortable sleep.
Airbnb’s association with the Louvre goes beyond this contest; a series of experiences at the museum will be available for booking on Airbnb.
