Washington, D.C. (TAN): Amtrak is offering a deal which allows two people to travel for the price of one upon booking a roomette or bedroom until June 10, 2019. Complimentary meals are included in the price of a ticket on most routes.
Customers can avail the sale to travel between August 1, 2019, and March 31, 2020.

Amtrak President and Chief Executive Officer Richard Anderson said: “We believe that the journey is part of the adventure. Recognizing the need to get more out of every moment, we wanted to offer our customers a truly unique way to experience the country this summer. With our sleeper sale, customers can share the experience while taking in some of the best views and sightseeing opportunities the United States has to offer.”
Special prices during the sale period start from USD195 for a roomette and USD259 for a bedroom. Some of the special fares include USD323 for a roomette and USD613 for a bedroom for a trip from New York to Charleston in South Carolina, and USD220 for a roomette and USD285 for a bedroom for a journey between Atlanta, Georgia and New Orleans, Louisiana.
To avail the discount, customers should either use discount code V540 or the link provided on the promo code. All prices will be automatically discounted from the standard fare price.
While seats can be transformed from chairs during the day to beds at night, roomettes and bedrooms offer bed linens, temperature controls, double-decker windows and storage corners, and train attendants helping with luggage, booking meals, and making beds.
Sleeping accommodations are available on several Amtrak trains, some of them being Cardinal, Lake Shore Limited, California Zephyr, Empire Builder, and Sunset Limited.

The deal is valid for one person travelling in the roomette, bedroom or family room, and the same direction as the full fare passenger who has purchased one regular full adult fare. The free companion and the full fare passenger must reserve for travel in the same reservation.
There are no blackout dates. The sale is not valid on the Auto Train.
