Cape Town (TAN): Exhibitors from the Khayelitsha township of the city are set to promote local township tourism at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival.
Khayelitsha will be promoted as a top tourism destination in the city.

The organisers have set up a tourism hub at the Cape Town International Convention Centre where the jazz festival will unfold on March 29 and 30. This is an an annual festival on Cape Town’s calendar and has been recognised for its contribution to help the local economy to grow.
The aim of promoting local township tourism is to create jobs in local communities and areas creating awareness about more under-explored tourism options for visitors.
“It’s an exciting new development for us, and one we look forward to for years to come,” festival director Billy Domingo told The Cape Argus.

“The Cape Town International Jazz Festival is a prime environment for our festival-goers to discover new sounds, but it is also the perfect place for them to be exposed to new places and experiences,” he added.
This year’s exhibitors from Khayelitsha are ABCD Concepts Tours, Lungi’s Bed and Breakfast, Malebo’s Bed and Breakfast and the popular social hot spot Rands CPT.
