(TAN): According to the eVisitor system, which includes tourist traffic in the commercial and non-commercial segment and nautical charter, Croatia recorded about 65,000 arrivals and almost 380,000 overnights from the Polish market in August.
When compared to the same period last year, this is a 4% increase in arrivals and 10% in overnights.
“After a great July, we expect even better tourist results in August. Namely, more than 3.9 million overnights were realised in Croatia during the first five days of August, which is almost 70 percent of last year’s result achieved over the same period. In addition to visitors from Poland, where there was an increase in traffic growth, we have excellent results in August with visitors from Germany and Slovenia, where we recorded about 96 percent of last year’s traffic over the same period,” said the Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board Kristjan Stanicic.
Stanicic said these results indicate Croatia is perceived as a safe and high-quality tourist destination. During the same period in August visitors from the Czech market marked almost 80 percent of last year’s result, and from the Austrian market more than 60 percent.
The TVP (Polish National Television) also dedicated an edition of its popular morning show in Poland entirely to Croatia as a tourist destination. The show “Pytanie na śniadanie” which, according to the Nielsen Audience Measurement, is watched by approximately 485 thousand viewers every day for three hours. The show about Croatia presented the country’s natural beauty, cultural heritage and eno-gastronomic offer, and a guest of the show was Agnieszka Puszczewicz, Director of the CNTB Representative office in Poland.

“Being a guest at the show was a great opportunity to present different motives for guests to visit Croatia to a large number of viewers. We must not forget that Croatia is one of the favorite summer destinations of Polish tourists. I believe that the Polish market will have a strong share in the overall results of Croatian tourism during this very challenging year as well,” said Puszczewicz.
