(IBNS): The inaugural flight of Delhi-Shillong-Delhi was launched at Shillong Airport, Umroi, by the Meghalaya Transport Minister S Dhar on Monday.
Local MLA, G B Lyngdoh, Meghalaya Chief Secretary M S Roa, Commissioner & Secretary, Transport, M R Synrem, Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District, R M Kurbah, CEO, flybig Capt. Srinivas Roa were also present in the inaugural function.
Speaking at the inaugural function the state Transport minister said that, it is a momentous occasion for the State and it will go down in history as a day when Meghalaya is directly connected by air with the National Capital for the first time.

He further thanked Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma for taking the initiative for the project to ensure that the people of the state are gifted with this present during this festive season.
He also lauded the effort of the Transport Department and the Meghalaya Transport Corporation who have worked very hard to ensure that this flight becomes a reality.
