(TAN): Disney’s Riviera Resort is scheduled to open at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida in the United States on December 16, 2019.
Influenced by European and Mediterranean architectural styles, the new resort will celebrate European Riviera design. Its decor will blend in classic 20th century furnishings with modern aesthetics, and art pieces based on Disney characters.

The property will feature a range of accommodations such as tower studios, studios and villas. Rates for tower studios start at USD 356 per night without taxes, while that of studios start at USD 516 per night excluding taxes, and villas at USD 743 per night without taxes. Three-bedroom grand villa costs USD 2,414 per night excluding taxes.
The resort will also offer access to the new gondola system called the Disney Skyliner Transportation, fitness centre and and rooftop dining at “Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera” with an opportunity to meet Disney characters. Guests will also be able to opt for the open-air “Bar Riva” by the pool, or quick bites at the Parisian-style “Le Petit Café” or “Primo Piatto”. Alongside a family-friendly pool, the pool area features a pool slide and an interactive play area for children inspired by European fountains.
New Disney cast costumes have been designed by Walt Disney Imagineering in partnership with Costuming to honour the new resort’s European Riviera theme. While the designers took cues from the Riviera’s landscapes, colours and art, their creations were also inspired by Hollywood artists and actors who visited the European Riviera and were influenced by the region’s style.

“Similar to the design of the resort, apparel pieces have a modern Riviera appeal, with classic and current nods. Ensembles are stylish and sophisticated and contemporary to today’s Mediterranean Riviera,” a Disney Parks Blog post read.
