(TAN): It already has Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, and Dubai is now set to make another mark in the Guinness book of World Records. The city is going to officially open the world’s largest fountain, also known as Palm fountain, on October 22.
The fountain will be located at the Pointe, a popular tourist destination, Financial Express said. Spread over an area of 14,000 square feet of sea water, the fountain’s super shooter is understood to shoot 105-metre tall water jets with more than 3,000 LED lights at play.

The Palm Fountain is set to have 20 shows and five different shows will run daily. The midnight show will be between 1900 and 2400 hours and will be done to an array of popular songs. According to the report, each show will be of three minutes and is expected to be performed every half-an-hour.
Guinness World Records is in the process of verifying the claim of the fountain being the largest in the world, reports said. Once done, it will be declared officially. Financial Express quoted Ahmed Al Khaja, the CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment as saying that the Palm Fountain is expected to draw more visitors and residents near the property.

Dubai reopened its borders for international visitors in July. The city now has an existing air bubble with India. Some international sports events are also being hosted by the city amid the pandemic.
