(TAN): Etihad Airways commenced 2024 with the inauguration of two new daily flight services from Abu Dhabi to Kozhikode (CCJ) and Thiruvananthapuram (TRV) in Kerala, India. These direct routes bolster Etihad’s Indian connections to a total of 10 gateways.
The newly introduced services aim to improve accessibility to Kerala’s scenic countryside and renowned beaches, driving increased tourism to the region. Simultaneously, they streamline travel for professionals visiting burgeoning business centers in the area.

Etihad CEO Antonoaldo Neves said: “We have established a fantastic group of non-stop routes between India and Abu Dhabi, providing customers with easier access to our growing network without transiting through one of the main Indian hub airports. Seamless and practical connections at Abu Dhabi ensure that our guests can easily access destinations across the GCC, Europe – including our four daily services to London – and North America. Moreover, they have the opportunity to enjoy a fantastic stopover in Abu Dhabi as an integral part of their journey.”
Etihad’s recent efforts in 2023 involved the reintroduction of services to Kolkata, vital for linking Eastern India to global destinations. Furthermore, the airline significantly escalated flight frequencies to Mumbai and Delhi, amplifying these popular routes from two to an impressive four flights per day.

Looking ahead in 2024, Etihad already unveiled plans for additional global flights. From March 31, the airline will inaugurate new flights to Boston, USA, followed by Nairobi, Kenya, commencing on May 1. The upcoming summer schedule promises inaugural non-stop services to Nice, France, and direct flights to the enchanting Greek isles of Mykonos and Santorini.
