(TAN): Three people are feared killed in a tourist plane crash on September 12 morning in the Belledonne mountain range of France, Daily Express reported citing local media reports.
“A plane crashed at Pas de la Coche around 10:28 am,” the report quoted a firefighter from CODIS (an operational fire and rescue centre) in Isère as saying.
The Belledonne massif is a mountain range in the French Alps to the east of the city of Grenoble. The range is a popular ski destination.
The aircraft was owned by a Grenoble based flying club, Aéroclub du Dauphiné. A member of the flying club was in control of the flight when the accident took place.
“It is still unknown in what circumstance he struck the mountain at Pas de la Coche which, according to a pilot,is a well-known passage which does not present any particular difficulty in good weather,” the report quoted a flying club spokesperson as saying.
