Phoenix Reisen’s newest riverboat MS Viola designed for disabled guests will be christened by Annika Zeyen, a wheelchair basketball player and gold medal winner of the Paralympics 2012.

Johannes Zurnieden, founder of Phoenix Reisen eagerly awaited the christening ceremony that is scheduled to start at 1400 hours on the Brassertufer in Bonn. The ship was inspired by Zurnieden’s idea to make unrestricted travel possible for wheelchair-bound individuals on the water.

He said: “We also want to offer those guests a Phoenix holiday home that we have not been able to welcome on our other ships. With Annika Zeyen we have found a very sympathetic and dedicated godmother who shows us what is possible, if you get support.”
