  • InterContinental Hotels (IHG) has taken over the management of Fiesta Resort Guam, Micronesia, in the Western Pacific, and will rebrand it as Crowne Plaza Resort Guam in early 2021 after an elaborate renovation.
  • The hospitality group has entered an agreement with the owner of the property Tan Holdings.

  • The hotel, featuring 318 rooms, is located in Tumon Bay. It will consist of a Crowne Plaza Club Lounge, food and beverage facilities, event spaces, a gym and swimming pools following the refurbishment.
  • IHG inked a Master Development Agreement with Aleph Hospitality last month to develop 10 franchise hotels across its portfolio of brands in midscale and upscale segments. The agreement was signed at Africa Hotel Investment Forum in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The group also signed three Multiple Development Agreements (MDAs) at the European real estate investment trade show Expo Real in Munich, Germany.

IHG has made its foray into Micronesia following the signing of an agreement with owner Tan Holdings to take on management of Fiesta Resort Guam.

The hotel will join the IHG system from today and will rebrand as Crowne Plaza Resort Guam in early 2021, following an extensive, multi-million dollar refurbishment. 

The 318-room hotel is located in the centre of Tumon Bay, with direct beach access and a short walk from high-end shopping areas. Following the refurbishment, it will feature a Crowne Plaza Club Lounge, newly renovated F&B facilities, function rooms and a fully renovated ballroom, as well as a gym and swimming pools. As one of the best-loved upscale brands globally, the hotel will deliver an elevated service experience, including the Sleep Advantage™ program and the benefits and rewards available to IHG Rewards Club members.

IHG has extensive experience in operating hotels and resorts that cater to Japanese, Korean and Chinese guests, with more than 400 hotels across China and Korea, and 32 hotels in Japan, including InterContinental resorts in Okinawa and the spectacular ANA InterContinental Beppu Resort and Spa, which opened in August this year. 

Crowne Plaza Resort Guam will join the brand in its most exciting era of transformation, as Crowne Plaza rolls-out its global flagship strategy. The first six flagship hotels will open across Europe, the US and China by early 2020, illustrating the new hallmark design innovation and brand standards across technology, public spaces (the ‘Plaza Workspace’), guest rooms, food & beverage and more. The new design is inspired by the continued guest demand for flexible spaces, offering seamless transition between business and downtime for the modern traveller.
