(TAN): Maldives resorts are opening on July 15 with the country opening its borders to international visitors. The archipelago nation promises “safe tourism”, according to a government announcement.
Incoming tourists of all nationalities will be provided a 30-day tourist visa on arrival and they will not be quarantined. Visitors are however required to submit any medical test results, and those with COVID-19 symptoms will be subjected to a test at the traveller’s cost.
A health declaration card will be required as part of the procedure. Additionally, testing services will be available for those who require a test result to return to their countries of origin or any other destination with the requirement.

Maldives resorts are naturally self-isolated because of the one island, one resort concept, making it a safe destination for luxury travelers.
Tourist resorts, hotels and liveaboards located on uninhabited islands are open for bookings from July 15 while hotels and guest houses located on inhabited islands will be open for bookings starting from Aug. 1.
