(TAN): Maldives has introduced the facilitation of “Split Stay” between resorts. This will enable tourists to experience more than one resort in the country and enable them to stay longer in the country during their holidays, the government said in a statement.
“Split Stay” is permitted between resorts that meet all compulsory requirements under the “split stay guideline” approved by the Health Protection Agency (HPA). Requests for approval of these split stays should be submitted to the tourism ministry two days prior to the travelling date.
Previously, tourists were permitted to enter the country without observing quarantine, provided that they remain at the establishment where initial bookings were made, precluding any movement between islands or liveaboards throughout the duration of their stay.

Tourists arriving in Maldives are required to submit an online health declaration form 24 hours prior to departure and also a negative PCR test 72 hours before departure to Maldives. Additionally, they must observe social distancing measures and wear face masks in accordance with HPA regulations.
While all passengers will undergo thermal screening, individuals with high temperatures, breathing difficulties or other symptoms will be referred to the airport clinic.
