Islamabad (TAN): Pakistan tourist visa restrictions have been eased in a bid to boost tourism and foreign investment.
Citizens of 50 countries will be offered visas on arrival, while that of 175 countries will be able to acquire electronic visas, media reports said.
Talking about the new rules, Fawad Chaudhry, Minister of Information, Government of Pakistan, told Reuters, “we have mountain tourism, we have beach tourism”.
He hoped the move will give a push to the tourism sector affected by violence. “Pakistan is a heaven for tourists,” he added.
The government has not revealed the names of countries that would fall under the new rules.
Foreign journalists are also expected to benefit from the new visa regulations.
