(TAN): Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside has earned the title of Canada’s Best Ski Hotel for the eighth year in a row, based on votes from leading ski tourism professionals, media and consumers. The World Ski Awards – the premier awards program in global ski tourism – recognized the all-suite, lodge-style hotel for its impeccable and personalized service, coveted amenities, and ideal proximity to Whistler and Blackcomb mountains.
The World Ski Awards were established to elevate standards within the ski industry by recognizing, rewarding and celebrating excellence in ski tourism worldwide. Each year, hundreds of thousands of travel professionals, skiers, hotel guests and media cast their votes for their favourite ski destinations and brands, with national categories including Best Ski Resort, Best Ski Hotel, Best Ski Boutique Hotel and Best Ski Chalet.
This year, notwithstanding the required closures to stop the spread of Covid-19, Pan Pacific Whistler overcame strong competition from properties across the country to retain the title. Neighbouring properties Four Seasons Resort & Residences Whistler and Fairmont Chateau Whistler were among the nominees’ list, as were Fairmont Banff Springs, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, Post Hotel & Spa and The Rimrock Resort Hotel.
“The award is particularly meaningful to us this year, as we – along with the entire tourism industry – have faced challenges like never before. To earn this honour once again, despite the devastating effects of the global pandemic, is incredibly gratifying and motivating,” said Julie Lanteigne, general manager of Pan Pacific Whistler hotels.
The property’s sister resort – Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre – similarly offers access to world-renowned skiing, hiking and mountain biking trails, spacious residential suites and nearby golf, fishing and other outdoor adventure.
