Singapore (TAN): Singapore Airlines’ regional subsidiary SilkAir will operate direct flights four times a week between Singapore and the South Korean city of Busan, starting May 1 this year.
With the launch of this new route linking South Korea’s second largest city, SilkAir will fly into the country for the first time.

SilkAir Chief Executive Foo Chai Woo said: “We are pleased to introduce services to Busan, offering customers in Singapore and around the region yet another vibrant and charming destination to explore in our network.”
Popularly known as the summer capital of South Korea, Busan attracts visitors from the world over through the year.
“For Koreans travelling from Busan, the new route will also offer greater access and connectivity with the SilkAir and Singapore Airlines network in Asia-Pacific and beyond,” Woo added.
The airline will deploy its Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft to serve the route.

According to the schedule, flight MI 876 will take off from Singapore on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 2315 hours and reach Busan at 0700 the next day, local time.
Flight MI 875 will depart Busan on Tuesdays at 0800 hours and Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 0830 hours, landing in Singapore at 1415 hours, local time.
