Singapore (TAN): Singapore Airlines is set to upgrade its SilverKris and KrisFlyer Gold Lounges at Changi Airport Terminal 3, which is scheduled to start next month and be over by mid-2021. The airline has committed over SDG50 million for the renovation work.
The Terminal 3 lounges will have a 30 per cent increase in space and total customer capacity following the refurbishment. Designed by United States-based hospitality design company Hirsch Bedner Associates, the new lounges will feature more open spaces, improved facilities and a wide range of food and beverage options.
Senior Vice President Customer Services and Operations, Singapore Airlines, Marvin Tan said: “With extensive research and feedback garnered from our customers, we have relooked and re-envisioned our customer journey to develop this new design concept for our lounges at T3.”

“Keeping the needs and wants of our customers in mind, we aim to deliver an experience that exemplifies the luxury and warm hospitality that SIA is known for. The project is a key part of our commitment to constantly elevate the customer experience, on the ground as well as in the air, and we look forward to revealing the exciting new offerings as construction progresses,” he added.
The Private Room and First Class Lounge will be spaces where guests can both work and rest. While the Private Room will be a full-service fine dining section within the lounge, the First Class Lounge will still have a flagship bar. Customers will also be able to choose from a variety of seasonal food and ‘perennial local favourites’.
The Business Class Lounge, on the other hand, will boast four different zones serving to serve customers with different needs. While those on short transit can have a snack in a café, fliers with more time can enjoy Asian and international cuisines in the dining hall. Local delicacies will be served at live stations.

Also, the Business Class Lounge will act as a self-service breakfast station in the mornings. The space will include productivity pods as well as rest spaces with chaise lounges.
After the upgrade, the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge will offer double capacity than it does now. It will also offer dedicated working spaces, al fresco seating and dining areas. Passengers looking to freshen up will have access to restrooms with showers.
The renewal will happen over four phases in sections, starting with the Business Class Lounge, followed by the First Class Lounge and the Private Room, and finally the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge. Guests will be offered temporary lounges during the stint.
