(TAN): The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) Global Conference will be hosted in Canada for the first time in 2020, reports said.
GSTC is a nonprofit that acts as the international body for promoting sustainable tourism practices, encouraging adoption of universal sustainable tourism principles and building demand for sustainable travel.
The 2020 edition of the conference will reportedly be held in Kelowna’s Delta Hotels by Marriott Grand Okanagan Resort, between November 19 and 22. Kelowna is located in the Okanagan Valley of Canada’s British Columbia province.
GSTC’s Chief Executive Officer, Randy Durband and Thompson-Okanagan Tourism Association’s (TOTA) Chief Executive Officer, Glenn Mandziuk announced next year’s venue at this year’s conference in Terceira Island, Azores.
“We could not be more excited to welcome the GSTC Global Conference to the Thompson-Okanagan and look forward to hosting sustainable tourism leaders in Kelowna from around the world,” Mandizuk was quoted by Kamloop This Week as saying.
“It is truly a privilege to share our destination with the world as we work toward a more sustainable future for us all. It is an opportunity to showcase the region and our sustainable commitment on a global stage to professionals actively involved in the development and promotion of sustainable tourism,” he added.
