(TAN): Hilton has announced the signing of a franchise agreement with Hotel Ambasciatori to open Ambasciatori Venice Mestre, Tapestry Collection by Hilton in the Mestre area of Venice. Following a full renovation and drawing on the hotel’s local history and Mestre’s proximity to the laguna, guests will be able to take advantage of upscale guest rooms, a restaurant, bar and fitness facilities. Historically a popular hotel with Italian movie and TV stars, the hotel’s renovation aims to restore that past glamour with a fresh, comfortable design and earthy colour palette punctuated throughout with rusts, washed blues, dark yellows and browns. Guests will find themselves at home as soon as they enter the cosy lobby, while natural tones used in guest rooms will create a welcome calm from the buzz of Venice.
Conveniently located 800 metres from Venezia Mestre, one of Italy’s busiest train stations, Ambasciatori Venice Mestre, Tapestry Collection by Hilton will allow guests to explore two sides of Venice. Across the lagoon from the hotel, guests can ride gondolas along the canals and see major attractions including the world-famous St. Mark’s Basilica and Bridge of Sighs, as well as the city’s plentiful museums and restaurants. While on the mainland in Mestre, guests can explore a number of Venice’s local attractions, such as the Piazza Ferretto, Museo M9 Mestre and the historic Fort Marghera.
“Mestre is a well-connected and popular area for tourists, situated just 10 minutes across the lagoon from Centro Storico di Venezia while also boasting a number of its own museums, galleries and historic landmarks,” said Andrea Chiappa, co-owner of Hotel Ambasciatori Srl. Guests will not only be able to enjoy touristic hotspots like Venice’s cultural centre but also the wider attractions of mainland Venice. Inviting guests to see another side of Venice, we are excited to bring Tapestry Collection by Hilton to the Venetian market and look forward to opening next year.”

The most populated area of Venice, Mestre has in recent decades been the subject of a strong development drive aimed at growing the area’s profile. Many artists and painters have established new studios in Mestre, while public areas such as Poerio Street have undergone major renovations and plans are already underway to make Marghera Port Venice’s primary tourist port. As well as these efforts, Mestre has become a key area for business, logistics and industry in Venice and Ambasciatori Venice Mestre, Tapestry Collection by Hilton will also serve that business travel demand with 100 square meters of meetings and events space spread across three meeting rooms.
The Tapestry Collection by Hilton portfolio is continuing to expand in Europe and now includes more than 70 hotels trading or under development around the world.
