(TAN): The authorities at Zanzibar, which is among Tanzania’s most popular tourist destinations, are optimistic about tourism recovery after witnessing an increase in the number of visitors in November, The Citizen reported.
According to the Office of the Chief Statistician of Zanzibar, as many as 29,128 tourists arrived at the Zanzibar archipelago last month, up from 12,157 in October. The visitor count in November is, however, around 61% of the same month in 2019.

Over 80% of the tourists to Zanzibar in November were from Europe.
“Russia had the highest number of visitors who accounted for 49%, followed by Poland with 56%,” an official said.
