“United is thrilled to offer these unique Pride experiences and help The Trevor Project in their mission to support LGBTQ youth,” he added.
MileagePlus members will be able to opt for three Pride packages that include walking with United Airlines in five Pride parades in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Chicago or New York City for WorldPride 2019, attending Drag Queen brunches in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago and Newark Liberty International Airport with OTG, and family movie night in a New York City park.
The airline will also celebrate PRIDE LIVE’s 50th Stonewall Day in partnership with American media company iHeartMedia’s radio station Z100 on June 28. United Airlines will be inducted by the Stonewall Foundation into Pride Live’s Stonewall ambassador programme on Stonewall Day.
United will participate in parades in Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Denver, Houston, San Francisco, Chicago, Honolulu and New York City in the United States, San Jose in Costa Rica, Bogota in Colombia, Mexico City, and London.
The proceeds from every mile redeemed will be sent to California-based non-profit organisation The Trevor Project, the airline’s charity partner that provides suicide prevention services for LGBTQ youth.
“Supporting LGBTQ youth in crisis from every state across the country takes significant travel resources, and we’re grateful to United Airlines for contributing to our mission in such a valuable way,” said Head of Corporate Development for The Trevor Project Muneer Panjwani.
“Their commitment to our mission of ending suicide among LGBTQ youth makes them a valued partner throughout the year, helping us save young LGBTQ lives every day,” he added.
