(TAN): VFS Global has been appointed as the exclusive service provider for visa, OCI, passport, renunciation of Indian citizenship, and Global Entry Programme (GEP) verification services for the Government of India in the US, the company said in a tweet.
From this month, the Indian diaspora and other applicants across the US can apply for these services at any one of VFS Global’s India Centers, it said. India consular application centres will be located in six cities — Washington DC, New York City, San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta and Houston.
India visa services, however, currently remain suspended because of the pandemic. The re-start date for visa services will be announced according to directives of the Embassy of India in the US.

The centers will be equipped with facilities to make the application process more convenient for travellers. These services are expected to benefit the over 4 million-strong Indian diaspora community in the US, as well as those who apply for Indian visas from the US.
VFS Global manages 44 passport and visa application centres for the Government of India in 11 countries.
When will the VFS global start accepting applications in US, it was mentioned as Nov 2, till now nothing is available.
I am also waiting for this. I need to renew my passport ASAP!!!
I am also waiting. No information either from MEA or embassy or VFS global on this. I have tweeting out to VFS global about this and they say they have no information available from Indian Embassy regarding this.
I have also submitted a couple of PRAMIT queries but with no response.
I think the next step would be to tweet out to PMO.

VFS global said that it’s going to start its operations on Nov 2. We have been trying and nothing is available. Pl give the correct information and it’s related links.
There is no option in VFSGlobal site to start Indian passport renewal application for US residents. If I select UnitedStatesOfAmerica in the resident select box there is no option to select India in the Citizen select box. Any updates on the same would be helpful. Thanks in advacne!

The website says November 2nd. Why is it not letting people renew their passport from the United States? 15 days of waiting between the shift of ckgs and vfs. Yet vfs is late to uphold the start date. Very disappointing.

From the day one VFS failed to provide the website. Same way after checking each Consulate offices here in USA, none of them have updated the cross refence to VFS.

but VFS website having technical issue, we are not able to add customer and proceed. I have sent email to VFS multiple times, but no response. this is really frustrating. very poor service from Indian embassy , first why there is gap between ckgs and VFS global services and yet we are not able to apply for passport
I have the same issue and unable to proceed in step 3 and there is no response from neither VFS nor Pramit.
I have submitted an application with VFS on 11/20 and I have been asking for status update but there is no update provided by VFS and there service is really poor. CKGS was way better in providing regular updates.
