Miami (TAN): United States-based cruise company Virgin Voyages is gearing up to offer its guests a special music experience on its first ship ‘Scarlet Lady’, due to sail next year.
The Scarlet Lady will host an onboard record shop called ‘Voyage Vinyl’, a private karaoke studio known as ‘The Groupie’, and music performances by artists.
The Groupie, designed by Roman Coppola, gives a modernist twist to a Japanese-style karaoke room.

The ship will also feature a gaming and movie lounge.
Bringing vinyl back
With Voyage Vinyl, Virgin Voyages plan to revive the classic old record and put it back in style. The record shop will have a collection of music from all genres and periods, the company said.
Guests will also be able to shop for curated albums, special editions of classics, music magazines and record players.

Voyage Vinyl will also serve as a performance spot for live sets mixed by Scarlet Lady’s resident DJs.
Music galore
The company’s residency programme will feature performers such as Mark Ronson, MK (Marc Kinchen), and Sofi Tukker.
Virgin Voyages will channelise its sonic identity through the Scarlet Lady, with not just electronic music that they are known for but also several other genres so that there is something for everyone, the company said.
Sounds from classic eras, disco, and 80’s music, among other periods, will make it to the Scarlet Lady’s repertoire. Virgin Voyages also plans to include calming sounds to give its guests moments of rejuvenation.
Virgin Voyage Creative Collective
The brand’s Creative Collective currently includes music, apart from design, food and entertainment.

Its new Creative Collective will feature a group of musicians called WhiteLabel Creative, who will design background sound for the ship and select DJs for The Beach Club at Bimini’s residency programme in the Bahamas.
