(TAN): Citizens from US, India and other high-risk Covid-19 affected countries can now apply for Thailand’s Special Tourist Visa (STV) now, reports said.
Thailand had till now barred foreign tourists from applying for tourist visas but it has now lifted the restrictions in an effort to revive tourism.
With an STV, travellers can stay up to 90 days if you are coming from low-risk countries including China, Vietnam, Australia. This visa can also be extended twice, and one can stay up to nine months.
Now, travellers from all countries can visit Thailand and stay for up to 60 days. Visitors will need to quarantine for another 14 days at an alternative state quarantine hotel on arrival. One will have to undergo a PCR test, quarantine on arrival and apply for a tourist visa to visit Thailand, reports said.

People travelling to Thailand will have to submit a negative COVID-19 test result from within 72 hours of arrival and travellers will have to undergo a second test once they land, a report in The Times of India said.
In case, someone tests positive on arrival, they will have to undergo a 14-day in a state hospital. Visitors also need to submit evidence of travel and medical insurance.
