“In their continued effort to keep our state at the forefront of travelers’ minds, Visit Florida’s new eco travel hub will put our beautiful environment on display and enable millions of visitors to take advantage of Florida’s sustainable travel options. More eco-friendly travel to our state will help our economy continue to grow, while keeping taxes low for Floridians,” he added.

The hub provides guidelines and resources for sustainable travel throughout the state – it offers information about environmentally friendly attractions, activities, dining, transportation, and lodging to visitors. Travellers can also practice voluntourism – a combination of volunteering and tourism, during their visit.

“Visit Florida is dedicated to providing our visitors with extraordinary vacation experiences while promoting sustainable solutions that help maintain our destination’s beauty and vitality,” Visit Florida President and Chief Executive Officer Dana Young said.

While Florida fosters coastlines, wildlife preserves and state parks to preserve the natural environment, Florida Green Lodging Program features nearly 400 properties so that tourists can find accommodations devoted to conserving the state’s natural resources. Florida also offers eco-friendly transportation options and activities to travellers.
