(TAN): Air India, India’s flagship carrier and Star Alliance member, has announced the commencement of non-stop flights between Delhi and Dhaka, offering added convenience and comfort to travellers between the capital cities of India and Bangladesh.
Starting from September 15, 2023, Air India will operate four weekly flights using its Airbus A320 aircraft. The airline already operates three weekly flights between Kolkata and Dhaka. This new service comes in response to the growing demand for international travel to and from Dhaka, driven by Bangladesh’s rapid economic growth and overall development.

Flight AI237 will depart Delhi at 1755 hours and arrive in Dhaka at 2045 hours, while the return flight AI238 will leave Dhaka at 2145 hours and reach Delhi at 2350 hours. Bookings for these flights have opened.
Air India, founded by JRD Tata, holds the distinction of pioneering India’s aviation sector. Since its inaugural flight on October 15, 1932, the airline has built a comprehensive domestic network and offers non-stop flights to numerous cities worldwide, encompassing the US, Canada, the UK, Europe, Far-East, South-East Asia, Australia, and the Gulf. In January 2022, Air India and Air India Express rejoined the Tata group after 69 years as government-owned enterprises.
Under the aegis of Vihaan.AI, Air India is currently undergoing a significant five-year transformation roadmap, aiming to become a world-class airline with an Indian heart. The initial phase of this transformation, known as the taxi phase, recently concluded with a focus on essential improvements, such as bringing grounded aircraft back into service, recruiting new talent for flying and ground functions, upgrading technology, and strengthening customer care initiatives, among others.

As a member of Star Alliance, the largest global airline consortium, Air India offers seamless connectivity and amenities to passengers worldwide. In January this year, Air India placed orders for 470 aircraft across Boeing and Airbus.
