Washington, D.C. (TAN): While summer is already upon us, American railway service provider Amtrak has arrived to serve its passengers with a bunch of trains and services during the busy travel season.

The company usually serves over 300,000 passengers during the Memorial Day long weekend which initiates the summer travel season with trains such as the Acela, Northeast Regional, Adirondack, California Zephyr, Southwest Chief, Coast Starlight, Downeaster, Lake Shore Limited, Sunset Limited, Texas Eagle, and Silver Star, among others.

The number of customers taking Amtrak trains could go up this year with improved comfort and convenience, the company said.

Discounts include Share Fares, a group discount offer which enables passengers to save up to 35 per cent while travelling in a group of four.

Amtrak President and Chief Executive Officer Richard Anderson said: “We believe the journey is the most important part of the adventure. Instead of sitting in traffic to reach these destinations, travel in comfort and watch the scenery roll by.”
