(TAN): United Kingdom-based business park Carrickfergus Enterprise has introduced a new Northern Ireland-focused app after investing an initial launch amount of GBP 20,000 (USD 25,990 approximately), reports said.

Named ‘Experience Northern Ireland’, the app is reportedly free and designed to help tourists visiting Northern Ireland create customised itineraries and plan ahead. It provides information on accommodation, trip providers, restaurants, heritage experiences, and things to see and do.

To heighten the experience and ease of navigation, time and distances are calculated automatically. The app is meant to offer an all-round planning solution, and is the only app of its type available, reports said.

While highlighting destinations of tourist interest, the easy to use application will also reportedly act as a new hospitality and tourism platform that on one hand showcases the region’s beauty to visitors and on the other helps businesses grow. Other business in the region can join the app, reports said.

“After months of development and testing, we are delighted to launch our brand-new Experience Northern Ireland app. It is the perfect way for a visitor to plan everything from a fun day out, to a five-day tour around Northern Ireland,” Manager of Carrickfergus Enterprise, Kelli Bagchus was quoted by reports as saying.

Bagchus said the app was aimed not just at vacationers but also at locals so that more people can explore the beauty around them.

“The app creates an all-encompassing trip whether the visitor knows where they want to go or just discover great experiences along the way, we are confident that the itinerary created using the app is exactly what visitors to Northern Ireland need. The app isn’t just for holidaymakers; we want to encourage people living locally to explore the wonderful places right on their doorstep and perhaps discover some hidden treasures along their travels,” she added.
