(TAN): Culinary Culture and Four Seasons Mumbai are presenting Chef Mano Thevar’s first Indian pop-up of his eponymous 2 Michelin-starred restaurant, Thevar. This event marks the debut of Modernist – the new members-only club on the 33rd floor of the towering Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai.
Thevar in Singapore is currently the only Indian restaurant in the world to hold two Michelin stars, according to a Four Seasons news release.
Raised in Penang Malaysia, Chef Mano Thevar showcases quintessential Indian flavours with a contemporary eye, using European kitchen techniques. The outcome is a delightful presentation of robust flavours and pronounced skills, perfect to be savoured by those with a discerning palate. Over two special dinners on October 14 and 15 at Modernist, Thevar will present a special degustation menu of their signature dishes including ChutoroIdli with Caviar, Bombay Cheese Kulcha with Black Truffles and Chetinad Chicken Roti, which will be served along with an exciting cocktail menu.

Sunil Narang, general manager of Four Seasons Mumbai, said, “Mumbaikars have always counted on Four Seasons Mumbai to entice them with the finest gourmet experiences and to elevate a meal to a journey. We are ecstatic to partner with Raaj Sanghvi and Culinary Culture in welcoming Chef Mano to the city and honoured to introduce Modernist as the first venue in India where he enthrals his audience.”
Talking about the upcoming event, Raaj Sanghvi, CEO of Culinary Culture, said, “We’re delighted to welcome Chef Mano Thevar and his team to India. We’ve been overwhelmed by the response to the dinners and I’m grateful to Sunil Narang and the Four Seasons team as well as the Diageo team for making this possible!”
“I’m very excited to bring my team and cook in India for the first time” said Chef Mano Thevar, chef-owner Thevar Singapore.
