Urban Nordic Walking, a wellness trend, involves five excursions focused on ‘Nordic walking’ in cities such as Naples, Palermo, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca and Barcelona, to discover their natural wonders and trails.

Suitable for everyone from children to the elderly, the ‘special activity’ is expected to help guests ‘restore their physical and mental balance’, Costa Cruises said. While it does not require hikers to make any specific athletic preparations, the walk could help guests with correcting their postures and better blood circulation.

Apart from health benefits, the walks could offer a new way to look at and exercise responsible and sustainable tourism. It could also help guests learn more about the routes, art, history and culture of a particular region.
