Cairo (TAN): It’s not every day one gets to experience the Pyramids of Giza in the company of Egypt’s tourism minister Rania al-Mashat herself.
al-Mashat on Monday escorted a group of South African tourists to the Giza Pyramids after some of them were hurt in a bomb explosion, local media reports citing a government statement said.
On Sunday, an explosion took place near a tourist bus in Giza that left seven South African tourists and 10 Egyptian civilians injured, local media said.

“Today an incident took place in Giza involving a bus and a minor explosion. Of the 28 passengers on the bus we can confirm some minor injuries with three being treated at the hospital as a precaution. All of those involved are being fully supported in their onward travels,” Rania al-Mashat had tweeted on Sunday.
According to a report in Nile TV International, the minsiter visited the injured at the hospital and then escorted a group of them to visit the pyramids and the Great Sphinx.
