Etihad Airways launches global Covid-19 insurance for fliers

All Etihad tickets upto December 31, regardless of date of booking, will include Covid-19 insurance. Guests with existing bookings don’t need to do anything.

(TAN): Etihad Airways has introduced a Covid-19 global wellness insurance cover as part of Etihad Wellness, the airlines’ new health and hygiene programme.

The global wellness insurance will cover up to EUR 150,000 (USD 177,543) of medical costs and up to EUR 100 (USD 118) a day of quarantine costs in case of a positive diagnosis for 14 days. This applies to travellers diagnosed with Covid-19 when they fly with Etihad.

Duncan Bureau, SVP, sales and distribution, Etihad Airways, said: “The safety, health, and wellbeing of our guests and employees is our top priority, during and beyond the flight. The introduction of global Covid-19 insurance, in partnership with AXA, builds on stringent measures already in place as part of our Etihad Wellness programme… we are doing all we can to keep them safe and protected.”

All Etihad tickets upto December 31, regardless of date of booking, will include Covid-19 insurance. Guests with existing bookings don’t need to do anything — they are automatically enrolled into the programme. The insurance is valid worldwide for 31 days from the first day of travel.

    Our Airline reservation code is QHGYNP (EY) under which following three passengers travelled from Toronto-Canada to Lahore-Pakistan on October 18, 2020.
    1)Muhammad Javed Asghar on Canadian Passport.
    2) Saima Javed on Canadian Passport.
    3) Saghira Fatimah on Pakistani Passport but residing in Canada as Permanent residence status.
    Our return ticket for Canada with Etihad was on November 15,2020 for which we all gone for PCR COVID 19 test on November 11, 2020. Unfortunately we all got PCR COVID 19 test positive and we all are now in quarantine and additionally bearing expense for some treatment like special blood tests and chest X-Rays. I have rescheduled my booking with Etihad for December 4, 2020 and by that time we shall again go for the test to see our health conditions if it suits to fly. We are looking for any financial assistance and help in this regard. Please reply to my email address if you need more information. Thank you.
