Accra (TAN): Ghana is receiving considerable interest from tourists after being named by US media major CNN as one of the most interesting destinations to visit in 2019, Ghanaweb reported.
In the wake of the report, France has already sent several journalists to the East African nation’s tourist sites for coverage on them so that more French people are interested to come here.

Air France Africa senior vice president Frank Legre revealed the news of the French journalists coming to Ghana and added that the airline was trying to advantage of the spurt in interest to travel to Ghana by encouraging more French people to fly in to Accra, Ghana’s capital.
“We believe there is potential of tourism to Accra. Accra as destination for tourism on the French market is not known too much and this why we decided to come here with French journalists to show them the Gold Coast. We are going to Elmina castle and other fantastic sites,” he told Citi Business News.

in September 2018, Ghana President Nana Akufo-Addo formally launched the “Year of Return, Ghana 2019” for Africans living outside of the country. It marks 400 years of the first enslaved Africans arriving in North America.
“We know of the extraordinary achievements and contributions they (Africans in the diaspora) made to the lives of the Americans, and it is important that this symbolic year — 400 years later — we commemorate their existence and their sacrifices.”
