Athens (TAN): Hard Rock International is bidding for a licence to develop and operate an integrated casino complex at Elliniko in southern Athens, the firm’s President Jim Allen told ekathimerini.com.
“At Elliniko we want to develop an integrated tourism and entertainment complex that will be much more than just a box with slot machines and gaming tables,” said Allen, whose company intends to invest upwards of EUR 1 billion (USD 1.1 billion) in the project.

Saying that he was satisfied with the pace at which the new government and Prime Minister Mitsotakis were moving ahead with the process for the overall development of the former airport, where the groups intends to build the complex, Allen said , “Entertainment is at the heart of our philosophy, and entertainment means hospitality and music and events and unique experiences and much, much more.”
Hard Rock International runs hotels, casinos, rock shops and cafes in 74 countries, according to its website.
