Ho Chi Minh City looks to welcome 8.5 million foreign tourists in 2019

Ho Chi Minh City (TAN): Ho Chi Minh City aims to welcome 8.5 million foreign tourists this year, the government’s official Vietnam News Agency (VNA) said.

The city, which has a population of around 10 million, has already welcomed 4.8 million tourists in the first seven months of 2019, an 11.45% YoY increase.

Apart from 8.5 million foreign tourists, the authorities also intend to welcome 32.77 million domestic tourists.

The Vietnam authorities also intend to promote eco-tourism in the Mekong Delta and sustainable tourism connectivity between Ho Chi Minh City and the 13 city and provinces in the Mekong Delta.
