(VIN): India has established an air bubble agreement with Oman to ensure passengers from both the countries can fly smoothly to each other’s territories amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Civil aviation minister Hardeep Singh Puri said in a tweet New Delhi had established an air bubble arrangement with Oman for the operation of special passenger flights between the two countries.
Puri said: “Further widening the scope of international air connectivity. Happy to announce that bilateral air bubble arrangement is now in place for flights between India & Oman, taking the number of such arrangements to 16. Carriers of India & Oman will operate between the two countries.”

Apart from nationals and residents of Oman, Indians holding residency permits of Oman will be allowed to fly to Muscat. On the other side, Indians stranded in Oman, overseas citizens of India (OCI) cardholders who also hold the passports of Oman, and Oman nationals holding an Indian visa will be allowed to enter India.
India now has air bubbles with Afghanistan, Bahrain, Canada, France, Germany, Iraq, Japan, Maldives, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, UAE, and US, while more bilateral air bubbles are expected to be announced soon.
On Friday, Germany revoked the permission for India’s national carrier, Air India, to operate flights to Frankfurt.
