International tourist arrivals to Thailand up 4.72% in July

Bangkok (TAN): International tourist arrivals in Thailand rose 4.72% YoY in July, a Reuters report said citing a tourism ministry statement.

As many as 3.33 million visitors came to Thailand in July, up 0.89% from June. The visitors in July spent around THB 167.3 billion (USD 5.47 billion).

Chinese tourists – Thailand’s biggest market – rose 5.81% YoY in July.

Thailand has been trying to woo tourists from its major markets such as China and India by waiving visa fees.
