(TAN): Japan Airlines (JAL) has implemented the JAL Covid-19 Cover, as part of its JAL FlySafe programme since December 2020, a service that provides reassurance and support to passengers with essential travel needs during the global pandemic.
The service is provided in partnership with AWP Japan (member of the Allianz Partners group) and covers medical costs resulting from the necessary Covid-19 testing and any subsequent medical treatment for passengers who test positive during their travels. Quarantine costs and repatriation assistance are also available for those requiring it after a positive diagnosis.
Starting July 1, 2021, quarantine cover is expanded to passengers suspected of being infected with Covid-19 and required by local authorities to quarantine.
