(NITN): Japan’s administration has announced plans to ease Covid-19 related border entry restrictions by allowing international visitors from 106 countries, including the U.K and the U.S, according to media reports.
The East Asian country has been reducing Covid-19 induced curbs, but the latest move does not add up to a full fledged reopening to globetrotters.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan said on Wednesday that foreigners from 106 nations would not meet with denial of permission to visit the island country.

Japan had closed its borders during the early days of Covid-19 in 2020, and only recently has allowed people with academic and business concerns to enter, Reuters reported.
The country will still be closed to 56 other nations, a government statement said.
